A CoC certifies that your electrical installation meets SANS 10142-1. You need a valid one when you sell a property, and most insurers will ask for it after an electrical claim. We issue a CoC on every electrical installation we complete.

It means the device is doing its job — something is leaking current to earth. A common cause is a failing geyser element or water in an outside plug point. Do not tape the switch up or bypass it; phone us and we will isolate the circuit causing it.

A certificate stays valid for two years provided no work has been done since. If anything was altered or added, that work needs its own certificate. We can inspect and reissue.

Not automatically. Galvanised pipe fails from the inside and the symptoms are poor pressure and discoloured water. If you have both, replacement is usually the cheaper long-term option. If not, we will tell you to leave it.

It depends on what you want to keep running, not on the size of your roof. We start from your last three municipal bills and the appliances you cannot lose, then size the panels, inverter and battery around that. Most homes that only want load-shedding backup need far less than they expect.

Yes, and it is often the sensible order. A hybrid inverter and battery solve load-shedding immediately; panels start reducing the bill. We size and wire the inverter so panels can be added without replacing anything.

It can, but both are large continuous loads and covering them pushes the battery and panel count up sharply. A geyser timer or a heat pump usually costs less overall. We will say so if that applies to you.

If the system can feed power back into the grid, most municipalities require registration. We tell you upfront whether your design triggers that and what your local requirement is.

Yes. We service and fault-find third-party installations regularly. If we find something unsafe we will document it and quote the correction separately — we will not quietly work around it.
